Moving Thoughts Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift. When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives. Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone. Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile. There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real! Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do. May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy. Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. Isn’t it strange how a $100 dollar bill seems like such a large amount when you donate it to the temple, but such  a small amount when you go shopping? Isn’t it strange how endless an hour seems when we are serving God, but how short it is when we watch a Football game for 60 minutes? Isn’t it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you’re at the temple doing service and how  short they seem when you’re watching a good  movie? Isn’t it strange that you can’t find things to say when you’re  praying, but you have no trouble on thinking what to talk about with a friend? isn’t it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of the  Gita or Bible or Kuran, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel? Isn’t it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games, but they do whatever is possible to sit at the last row in the temple? Isn’t it strange how we need to know about an event for the temple  4-6 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we  can adjust it for other events in the last minute? Isn’t it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God to share it with others, but how easy it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip? isn’t it strange how we believe everything that Magazines and Newspapers say, but we question the words in the Gita, Bible or Kuran? Isn’t it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven, but  they don’t want to believe, do, or say anything to get there? Isn’t it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are Fowarded right away, but when we are going to send messages  about God, we have to think twice as to whom to share it with? IT’S STRANGE. ISN’T IT? let’s contemplate and apply it in our lives and then by our actions share it with all.   Funny how we set our clocks to arise at 4:00 am or 5:00 am to be at the job by 7:30, yet when Sunday comes we can't get to church for 11:00 am to praise the one who gave us the jobs! Funny how we call God our Father and Jesus our brother, but find it hard to introduce them to our family. Funny how small our sins seem, but how big "their" sins are. Funny how we demand justice for others, but expect mercy from God. Funny how much difficulty some have learning the gospel well enough to tell others, but how simple it is to understand and explain the latest gossip about someone else. Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't have any difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend. Funny how we are so quick to take directions from a total stranger when we are lost, but are hesitant to take God's direction for our lives. Funny how so many churchgoers sing "Standing on the Promises" but all they do is sit on the premises. Funny how people want God to answer their prayers but refuse to listen to His counsel. Funny how we sing about heaven, but live only for today. Funny how people think they are going to Heaven but don't think there is a Hell. Funny how it is okay to blame God for evil and suffering in the world, but it is not necessary to thank Him for what is good and pleasant. Funny how when something goes wrong, we cry, "Lord, why me?" but when something goes right, we think, "Hey, it must be me!" Oh wait...maybe all this isn't so "funny" after all. Funny how we probably all read this e-mail, but few of us take the time to pass it on... I took the time..........WILL YOU?

Even though I clutch my blanket and growl when the alarm rings, thank you, Lord, that I can hear. There are many who are deaf.Even though I keep my eyes closed against the morning light as long as possible, thank you, Lord, that I can see. Many are blind.Even though I huddle in my bed and put off rising, thank you, Lord, that I have the strength to rise. There are many who are bedridden.Even though the first hour of my day is hectic, when socks are lost, toast is burned and tempers are short, my children are so loud, thank you, Lord, for my family. There are many who are lonely.Even though our breakfast table never looks like the pictures in magazines and the menu is at times unbalanced, thank you, Lord, for  the food we have. There are many who are hungry. Even though the routine of my job often is monotonous, thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to work. There are many who have no job.Even though I grumble and bemoan my fate from day to day and wish my circumstances were not so modest, thank you, Lord, for life! People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; forgive them anyway.If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.If you find serenity and happiness, there may be jealousy; Be happy anyway.The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway.

When you are tired and discouraged from fruitless efforts... God knows how hard you have tried.   When you've cried so long and your heart is in anguish... God has counted your tears.   If you feel that your life is on hold and time has passed you by... God is waiting with you.   When you're lonely and your friends are too busy even for a phone call... God is by your side.   When you think you've tried everything and don't know where to turn... God has a solution.   When nothing makes sense and you are confused or frustrated... God has the answer.   If suddenly your outlook is brighter and you find traces of hope... God has whispered to you.   When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for... God has blessed you.   When something joyful happens and you are filled with awe... God has smiled upon you.   When you have a purpose to fulfill and a dream to follow... God has opened your eyes and called you by name.   Remember that wherever you are or whatever you are facing... GOD KNOWS

I asked God to take away my pain. God said, No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.   I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, No. Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.   I asked God to grant me patience. God said, No. Patience is a by-product of tribulation. It isn’t granted, it is learned.   I asked God to give me happiness. God said, No. I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you.   I asked God to spare me pain. God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.   I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.   I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, No. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.   I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as he loves me. God said...Ahhhh, finally you have the idea. This day is yours don’t throw it away May God Bless You, To the world you might be one person. But to one person you just might be the world.

Like the little old lady who returned your wallet yesterday. Like the taxi driver who told you your eyes light up the world when you smile. Like the small child who showed you the wonder in simple things. Like the poor man who offered to share his lunch with you. Like the rich man who showed you it really is all possible if you believe. Like the stranger who just happened to come along when you had lost your way. Like the friend who touched your heart when you didn't think you had one left to touch. They are hard to find when your eyes are closed, But they are everywhere you look when you choose to see.
